Our school delivers the National curriculum through a STEAM based approach.
Children will learn to explore and develop an understanding of the world around them through scientific study and enquiry. They will immerse themselves in the three key areas: biology, physics, and chemistry. Key scientific skills will be developed through each topic. Pupils will foster an understanding of how science has shaped our world and how it continues to have a meaningful impact upon our society at community, country and global levels.
Lessons are taught through a topic-based approach and the scientific areas of study are linked to or drive each ‘unit’ of work. In this way pupils are further supported in making the links between scientific principles and the world in which the live. At the end of each unit children reflect on the journey of their learning and are assessed as to their long-term memory fluency.
